Over four months, six 30-minute sessions were held on the ergometers, with participants striving to accumulate as many meters as possible for both individual and team rankings. It’s gratifying that this challenge format has lost none of its appeal after more than a decade. This year, 46 clubs from near and far answered the challenge’s call, bringing no fewer than 1,440 participants (868 men, 572 women) to the various ergometers. In addition to the Concept2 RowErg, a large group used the Concept2 BikeErg (29), a smaller group used the WaterRower (6), as well as Concept2 Dynamic (3), Concept2 SkiErg (1), Concept2 Slides (1), TechnoGym (1), RP3 (2), and Taurus (1). And in terms of overall performance, a top performance of 26,832,911 meters was achieved by all participants.

The challenge’s goal of covering at least 30,000 meters for men and at least 26,000 meters for women, based on the results of the best four laps, requires a high level of fitness. This season, 98 men and 65 women were able to celebrate achieving this goal. However, since reaching this target becomes increasingly difficult with age, comparing performances within one’s age group is the best motivation.
